- Submucosa: rich in blood vessels/nerves
- Muscles layer: pushes food along through digestive tract
- Outer coat (serosa)- connective tissue


GI tract:

- Pharynx
- Esophagus
- Stomach
- Small intestine
- Large intestine
- Anus
