Anatomy- Body cavities

There are two body cavities: 

1- Dorsal cavity (posterior) 2 subdivisions:

     1- Cranial: formed by cranial bones and contains the brain

     2- Vertebral canal: contains the spinal cord

2- Ventral cavity (anterior) 2 subdivisions:

     1- Thoracic: heart, lungs, and associated structures

     2- Abdominopelvic: digestive, excretory, and reproductive organs
